Introduction
Welcome to teaching digital skills!
The Teacher's Guide is a package designed to facilitate the teaching of digital skills. In the guide, you will find information about the objectives of each lesson, keywords, discussion questions related to the topic, as well as tasks to be performed in the classroom in addition to digital tasks. The content of the lessons can also be utilized as integrated units taught alongside different subjects.
Lesson Content
The Digital Skills sessions of Keyboard Master are divided into five different areas, through which students learn to understand the digital world, and its themes and responsibilities. Digital lessons focus on teaching a specific theme to students through interactive tasks. All lessons also include audio.
Safety and Privacy (K-2 DigiSafe Island / 3-5 DigiSafe Star)
In preschool and early education exercises, students learn about logging in to various devices, what passwords are, and why their protection is important. In addition, students learn about privacy, how to operate in digital environments, and cyberbullying.
For grades 3-6, exercises focus on communication and netiquette, cybersecurity, copyrights, digital footprint, and cyberbullying.
Internet, Information Retrieval, and Media Literacy (K-2 DigiNet Islands / 3-5 DigiNet Galaxy)
In preschool and early education exercises, students learn about what the internet is, what a web browser is, what web pages and search engines are, and how to search for information and identify different search results. In grades 3-6, students learn about the different ways devices connect to the internet and to other devices, as well as delve deeper into media literacy.
Technological Development and Its Impact on the Surrounding World (K-2 DigiFuture Island / 3-5 DigiFuture Moon)
In preschool and early education, students learn about how technology has evolved over time. Students in grades 3-6 consider how digitalization has affected us and society.
Presenting and Interpreting Digital Information (K-2 DigiData Island / 3-5 DigiData Planet)
During the lessons, students learn about digital information and how it can be stored electronically. They also practice collecting information into various charts and interpreting them.
Devices and Programs (K-2 DigiWare Island / 3-5 DigiWare Nebula)
In this section, preschool and early education exercises teach students to understand what devices and programs can do and how they differ from each other. Exercises for older students deepen previously learned knowledge.
